Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Associate Veterinarian to join our team. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide comprehensive medical care to a variety of companion animals, including dogs, cats, and small mammals.
  2. Perform routine wellness exams, vaccinations, and preventative care services.
  3. Diagnose and treat medical conditions, injuries, and illnesses in accordance with best veterinary practices.
  4. Conduct thorough physical examinations and diagnostic tests, including bloodwork, imaging, and laboratory analysis.
  5. Develop customized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs and circumstances.
  6. Communicate effectively with clients to educate them on pet health, wellness, and preventive care strategies.
  7. Perform surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and soft tissue surgeries, with precision and care.
  8. Collaborate closely with our veterinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care and client satisfaction.
  9. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and clinic protocols.
  10. Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine through continued education and professional development.

Qualifications:

  1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school.
  2. Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Connecticut.
  3. Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a veterinary setting preferred, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  4. Strong surgical skills and experience performing routine surgical procedures.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  6. Compassionate bedside manner and genuine concern for the well-being of animals.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
  8. Dedication to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in veterinary medicine.
  9. Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture.
  10. Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate client appointments and emergencies.
