Associate Veterinarian (Mobile)

  • Portland, Oregon, USA
  • Permanent / Full Time
  • Alex Foden
  • $85000 - $105000

We are seeking a full time Associate Veterinarian for an expanding mobile veterinary service.

The position is ideally four, 9-10 hour days per week. The client is flexible about which days per week and would be open to creative scheduling if need be for the right candidate (ie alternating 3 day and 5 day weeks, 5 shorter days per week, etc).  NO ON CALL REQUIREMENT.

The client is strictly a mobile veterinary practice servicing the greater Portland, OR metropolitan area and are ready to expand.  Their current mobile veterinary clinic is a 26’ long vehicle with all the general practice bells and whistles.  They have paperless records, on-board Abaxis blood machines (CBC and Chemistry), a digital x-ray system, digital dental x-rays and a separate surgery suite inside the truck with isoflurane anesthesia in addition to a modest pharmacy, vaccinations and treatment options for their daily sick and preventative care appointments.  There is also a dedicated tech/assistant each day on the truck so the doctor is rarely solo seeing appointments.  The clientele is made up of pet owners who are dedicated to their pets and want to be involved in their pets’ care.  They pride themselves as a clinic in being transparent and complete with regards to all options for our patients and working as a team with our clients for the best outcome for their animals.

They are looking for a self-motivated veterinarian with 3+ years of experience (though confident and motivated new-grads will be considered),

Their goal is to expand to multiple mobile veterinary clinics and into Vancouver, WA over the next few years, and they are looking for a veterinarian who wants to run their own mobile clinic. They practice high-quality, full service veterinary care for predominately small animals but have been seeing more pet chickens and goats over the last year. There are options to see other exotics or offer complimentary medicine as well depending on the applicant’s interest.

Starting Pay range is $85k-105k depending on experience.  Benefits include relocation assistance, stipend for health insurance monthly, local VMA dues paid by practice, 2 weeks of PTO the first year, annual stipend for CE, reimbursement for DVM license renewal at the end of the year (renewal is Dec 31st in Oregon), and potential for bonuses based on company performance at end of the year.   Oregon DVM in good standing or eligibility to apply and DEA license required.  Experience driving large vehicles and active DVM license in Washington are a plus, but are not required.
