We are recruiting for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician for a state of the art, 5 doctor practice in the Greenwich Village/West Village neighborhood of Manhattan. The hospital will consider a non-licensed technician if experienced.

The working week is Monday through Thursday then alternating Friday and Saturday. Closed Sunday. Hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30am to 8pm. Friday and Saturday are 8-5pm. There is an opportunity to train aspiring LVTs if interested.

Characteristics/responsibilities that they are looking for in a veterinary technician include but are not limited to:

• Ability to multi-task
• Client communication and education
• Low-stress handling
• Positive attitude
• Interest in continued education/learning
• Administers oral, topical, intravenous medication
• Assists the veterinarians and support staff with restraint
• Assists in diagnostic imaging
• Proficient in veterinary software for documenting in the medical record (Avimark experience a plus!)
• Performs venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Processing of laboratory samples
• Knowledgeable with surgical assistance
• Prepare and fill medications
• Anesthesia – intubation, monitoring is a plus!

Compensation:
