Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Small Animal (SA) Associate Veterinarian to join our team in Durham, NC. As an SA Associate Veterinarian, you will provide high-quality medical care to companion animals while ensuring exceptional client service. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations on companion animals to assess their health status.
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions and injuries in small animals, including dogs and cats.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs, considering their medical history and presenting symptoms.
  • Perform surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, soft tissue surgeries, and dental surgeries, with precision and care.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as radiography, ultrasound, and laboratory tests to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing detailed explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care recommendations.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by fostering teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect among colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of North Carolina or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Prior experience working in a small animal veterinary practice preferred but not required.
  • Strong surgical skills and proficiency in performing routine procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor, with a genuine concern for the well-being of animals.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and client service.
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours emergency on-call rotations as needed.
